With Ubuntu you can run every typical program except some DirectX games. OpenGL games like Doom 3, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars ... run natively!

So if you want to get rid of Windows, give Ubuntu a try! It's awesome!

Grrr..... I downloaded Ubuntu 5.10 ("Breezy Badger") some weeks ago... But I never took the time for a backup of files on the Windows partition... And now I have to download a new Ubuntu for getting a recent Linux on my notebook...  >:( ;)

Greetings,
Nemo.

Greetings,
Nemo.

Some weeks ago I've crashed Breezy due to a newbie-style GNUnet installation and installed Dapper beta instead.

It works great (no need for a reinstall because of continuing updates)! ;D

P.S. A dist-upgrade for Breezy is also available!

With Ubuntu you can run every typical program except some DirectX games.

Now Counter-Strike Source works great with Feisty and Wine!
