RShare/StealthNet / Re: StealthNet on Kubuntu with Mono
« on: April 05, 2010, 06:19:32 PM »
On April 29th there will be the release of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, perhaps the Mono-GUI-problems will go away...?  ;)
If theyr're Mono problems, I don't think so... :(

RShare/StealthNet / StealthNet on Kubuntu with Mono
« on: April 05, 2010, 10:29:18 AM »
Hi everyone!
I moved to Kubuntu and have installed StealthNet with Mono.

It works but I thought it was better.
With Mono there's not a good GUI like Windows.
As you can see from screenshots:
- characters with accent are not shown (same for Japanese chars, so Japanese's can't use it);
- row order is not right (see screensht: 33 MB < 3 MB < 100 MB  ???).

- columns are not resizeable (I can change their size, but it returns immediately to previous one)
- once I close it on tray, can't reopen it (context menu is not shown and I have to close it from system monitor->process table), so have to keep it opened in one of four desktops.

They are Mono issues, isn't it true?
Have you ever tried to run SN on Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Linux?

Can you reproduce the second part of this bug?
I cannot reproduce it :(
Maybe if you resolve the first part, doesn't occur this bug?
I don't know...

What's the filesize of file1 and file2?
I don't remember, but I think they was bigger than 200 MB.

heh this's weird, i never came across osiris so far, nice information

Is it Open Source? I read that it's "Freeware". Trusting a Closed Source Software with embedded encryption and anonymity features is not easy... ::)

That's because the developers are looking for donations, and if the project becomes open source, they can't try to earn money.
They say that if there will be a lot of donations, they haven't problems to turn the project into open source.

What a nonsense...
Just for answering:
Osiris is come back with 0.13 version and its developers will release the source code under GPL.

"We announce that Osiris will become an open-source project, released under GPL.
Sources are not available yet, because we need to check if a fork can be used to attach the system.
We are planning to release sources in a few month.

I have no idea how to avoid such situations.
I've seen that some articles are protected on Wiki. This means that only certain accounts can modify it, for preventing spam.

Here is the discussion on StealthNet deletion.

Someone, who is not registered on Wiki, modifies the page adding illegal board.
I've deleted those links a few minutes ago, but I think that spammers will add those bad links again... :(

RShare/StealthNet / StealthNet Wiki Page considered for deletion

This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy.

At 99% Wiki has chosen this decision after someone added stealthnet-warez site to external links.
I think you have to talk in the deletion page for avoiding the probably deletion... :(

RShare/StealthNet / Re: The japanese Mod...
« on: March 01, 2010, 08:33:30 PM »
I think the time has come to create and implement mechanisms that protect the network from modded clients with bad behaviour, such as flooding the network with searches etc. It is just that simple and therefore time consuming for the developers...
Japanese mod could be a problem, but in a general principle, it isn't.
The problem is that SN has not any features for banning malicious nodes.

Unfortunately, same problems with this new beta for directory/file management.

My system specification from log:
9.32.40: .NET Framework Version: 2.0.50727.3082
9.32.40: OS Version: Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3

* I share the following folder: C:\My Data
* I have to create a new folder in My Data: C:\My Data\Subdirectory

First problem: StealthNet adds C:\My Data\Subdirectory to Shared folder.
Is this behaviour good? I don't think.
If I share C:\My Data I suppose to share all subdirectories in C:\My Data, without:
* adding all of them in the SN shared folder list;
* adding other directories created in C:\My Data after sharing of C:\My Data.
So, IMHO, C:\My Data\Subdirectory have not to be added to shared list. Log:
20.20.50: AddFile: File does not exist: "**C:\My Data**"
20.21.12: Renamed directory "**C:\My Data\New directory**" to "**C:\My Data\Subdirectory**"
20.21.12: AddFile: File does not exist: "**C:\My Data**"
20.21.36: Removed directory "**C:\My Data**"
2nd line: when I'm creating a directory, WinXP name it "New directory", after I'll give it "Subdirectory" name.
4th line: I've removed C:\My Data\Subdirectory from shared folder list (for the explanation above)
1st & 3rd line: I never understand their meaning...

So, I've deleted C:\My Data\Subdirectory from shared folder list and then:
* I move file1 from C:\My Data to C:\My Data\Subdirectory;
* I move file2 from C:\AnotherDir to C:\My Data\Subdirectory.
Notes: file1 was already shared since it was in C:\My Data, instead file2 wasn't shared since C:\AnotherDir isn't in the shared folder list.

What happens? StealthNet crashes. From task manager, over 90% CPU utilization, and I have to shut down it. Log:
20.22.20: Removed file: "**C:\My Data\file1**"
20.22.20: File (**C:\My Data\Subdirectory\file1**) found in database
20.22.20: ファイル追加: "**C:\My Data\Subdirectory\file1**"
20.22.20: AddFile: File does not exist: "**C:\My Data\Subdirectory**"
20.22.41: AddFile: File does not exist: "**C:\My Data**"
line 1 & 2: you can understand them
line 3: don't care about Japanese characters, file1 (in C:\My Data\Subdirectory) added to shared files
line 4 & 5: I don't know...
After? Nothing. Crash...

It's not finished. At reboot SN doesn't remember shared files and hash starts for all files...
Good thing that I done a backup of preferences files...
I hope we can discuss on these problems...
