RShare/StealthNet / StealthNet on Kubuntu with Mono
« on: April 05, 2010, 10:29:18 AM »
Hi everyone!
I moved to Kubuntu and have installed StealthNet with Mono.

It works but I thought it was better.
With Mono there's not a good GUI like Windows.
As you can see from screenshots:
- characters with accent are not shown (same for Japanese chars, so Japanese's can't use it);
- row order is not right (see screensht: 33 MB < 3 MB < 100 MB  ???).

- columns are not resizeable (I can change their size, but it returns immediately to previous one)
- once I close it on tray, can't reopen it (context menu is not shown and I have to close it from system monitor->process table), so have to keep it opened in one of four desktops.

They are Mono issues, isn't it true?
Have you ever tried to run SN on Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Linux?

RShare/StealthNet / I need help on ROST
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:25:42 PM »
I need you for informations about the online signature.
I use ROST for uploading the image, but I don't succeed to upload it
I have the following webspace:
On the following ftp server:

In ROST, I add "" in Server, then my user, my pass and click on Start Releasing.
ROST freezes and I can't do nothing, so I have to shut down it.
I would upload the image in the root, so I think that I don't have to add something into Directory form, but I've also tried to add something like "onlinesignaturesn"/"onlinesignaturesn/imagename.png", but nothing!

ROST always freezes.
I had to upload the image with 0 informations with FileZilla.

Can you help me? How do you upload your online signature with ROST (if you use it)?

RShare/StealthNet / StealthNet like Windows service
« on: September 25, 2009, 01:34:58 PM »
Hi! My PC has a lot of users.
Some users use different account, so StealthNet has to be restarted in the changing of this one.

But I want that StealthNet is always running, and no that it has to be closed for changing an account.
So, I had the idea of windows service. Once you start them, they remains in running, until you shut down the system.

I find a guide for do that:
Unfortunately SN doesn't start!
I got this: error 1053 the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Can someone explain me how can I resolve this?
Is it a problem of mine? Or does it depend by SN?

RShare/StealthNet / SN 99% CPU
« on: June 21, 2009, 02:42:14 PM »
SN was running this afternoon on my PC. A while ago I see 0 kb/s in up and down.
From task manager I can see SN process to 99-95% CPU.

There's a problem, but I think that I can resolve it closing the SN process from task manager.
No, every times I start SN, it goes to 99% CPU usage.
I tried to restart winXP, but nothing. SN doesn't work well.

What's the problem?

RShare/StealthNet / Too many enqueued commands
« on: May 28, 2009, 10:03:10 AM »
Lately, in this days, I see from connection tab, peers with 300/400 (variable values) enqueue commands.

Can someone explain me how and why does a client have some enqueued commands about a peer? Maybe for low bandwidth? Too many direct connection?

Do high values of enqueued commands create problems to the client or the RS network?

Thanks for answering...

RShare/StealthNet / Adding a link/hash in SN from a board/forum
« on: May 02, 2009, 08:36:57 AM »
Hi everyone. I want to ask you a question: can someone tell me if SN is able to add in the download list a link/hash posted in a board?
But, not copying/pasting it, only clicking on it...

If yes, how?
Are there any parameters to set in the browser or in the structure of link on the board?

RShare/StealthNet / Dynamic Queue
« on: April 28, 2009, 05:56:15 AM »
Only now I read the last reply on my bugreport on BugZilla:

I reported that bug for improve the function of upload.
For me it's better when...pasting:
...after a certain quantity of data uploaded (or a number of sector sent), the request goes to the bottom of queue and a new request starts to upload.

Now, instead, a request ends when all sectors are sent (or when the connection
is lost, etc...), so there's a kind of static upload. (I see, a request goes out from the list when there aren't contacts for 8 minutes...)

A rule of "upload ends when x sectors are sent, and the request goes to the
bottom of queue" (if there are requests in queue, that can start to upload),
makes the upload with dynamic queue.
Isn't it better? (Especially for certain nodes that I see they have 30-40 requests in their queue!!!  :o In this case I delete the download...)

Roland replied me:
I am not really looking forward to such a behaviour.
Lets see, what the others think about it.

What do you think?

RShare/StealthNet / Does Shareaza think of SN?
« on: April 23, 2009, 09:09:29 PM »
On, an Italian forum on P2P world a user wrote that he read on the Shareaza Forum that there's the idea of introduce SN as anonymous network in Shareaza.
Does nobody know this?
The same user says that the Shareaza team needs a programmer to do that.

Is nobody interested?

RShare/StealthNet / "Move to the top/bottom of queue" doesn't work
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:50:18 AM »
It doesn't work for me.
I notice that for the first time yesterday.

Is it a known bug? Or is it a problem of mine?

You can see that they're grey and I can't click them.

Do you suggest to open a bug report on BugZilla?
