Dargens p2p (kerjodando) is based on ANts p2p except users join the network by connecting to either their friends or users that they share an interest with. This is a social network, a type of small world network.
.......
To allow users to connect and form social networks, the Dargens tracker maintains a record of users' friends, that it shares with new users who connect.
Sorry but it's actually anti social.
Dargens splits nodes up into small groups, it makes some groups more privileged than others. If you don't know the right people you may be left out from the "good stuff". It may also create the ability of people to alienate certain people they don't like.
Ants depends on other nodes for pass through packets. It also depends on a large group that is spread all around the world to increase users privacy, security of information, and to prevent censorship.
Reducing the number of nodes in the Ants network puts the users directly at risk. The pass through system doesn't work if everyone is directly connected to everyone else.
Dargens will reduce the number of nodes on the regular, open Ants network. This is anti social towards those users and reduces their privacy and security.
I understand the want to go faster and connect to nodes that are less hops away to the content you want, but this isn't the way to do it. The Ants system code by design should be "walking" around the network on a regular basis trying to find a faster path to content. This was one of the original ideas presented by developers. There may be other ways to do this with the software.
For a totally different approach, you may want to check out how the OFF System works. OFF can swarm nicely for popular content and works to protect users privacy.
Oh, and the tracker.... Single point of failure and a security risk, bad idea. Systems like Ants, MUTE, OFF and I2P go through great trouble to avoid things like trackers and one single point to get network startup connection information.
