StealthNet 0.8.2.1 released
« on: April 06, 2008, 05:46:37 PM »
Once again StealthNet 0.8.2.1 has left the development laboratory with some new features and bugfixes. Please find all changes since version 0.8.2 below. The most important new features are:

1. Online signature

This feature allows to generate a file called "onlinesignature.xml" in the StealthNet preferences folder. It contains information like client/version name, details about up- and downstream,  number of shared files and so on.

To process this information you can use ROST, for instance. ROST will be available with release of StealthNet 0.8.2.1 on the StealthNet website as 3rd-Party product.

Signatures created with ROST can look like this example:

2. Download queue

A long anticipated feature download queue has been implemented. With this feature you can add more than five concurrent downloads to the queue, and if a download is finished, the next entry in the queue will move to the active downloads. Furthermore, a queue manager is integrated to manage the queue (move entries up and down, delete entries and so on).

3. Collections

Multiple files can be combined to a collection, which is a plain ascii text file. After adding this collection file to StealthNet all files contained in this collection will be downloaded to its own folder in StealthNet´s incoming folder. Each folder is called like the name of of the collection.

Please note: It might be that the web interface from Matthias doesn´t work properly with StealthNet 0.8.2.1 since he did not adapt his web interface to the new features in StealthNet.

Many thanks fly out to all the guys who contributed to StealthNet 0.8.2.1. :)

Well, there is a great job.
Stealthnet is beginning to become a real P3P software on french scene, thanks to u.
It apprears a lot of series, films and mangas... And restrictives laws like Hadopi will dope this movement.

I don't know if it already exists (cause am an uploader much more a downloader), but I hope to see on Stealthnet on day a system like Bittorrent, which allows to put together files which have been renamed but are the sames.

It could avoid us to have a lot of versions of the same file in the sharelist and could economize a lot of bandwidth... eMule/eDonkey suffers to not have this system...

Thank you for all this job ^^

PS : I have a paranoid friend who want to see technical details on the cryptage system to ensure that this soft allow him to be totally safe. Where can I find that on the forum ?

I don't think they are on the forum.
However, it's Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).
On Google you should find something...

You can find some details about encryption used in StealthNet here: http://www.planetpeer.de/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
