Hi y'all, we've got a new 0.6.1.6 release out now with a bunch of
goodies for you. In the router, we've got a substantial bugfix for
a long lasting problem in the tunnel batching code (which I hope
will have performance implications as it gets deployed). There's
also a 'poor man's PMTU to transfer between routers more
efficiently, and Raccoon23 has implemented a new 'dynamic keys'
mode, rotating router identities on IP change (useful for people
whose IP changes often, or for some trivial attackers - see the
config.jsp page for more info).
We've also got some good stuff at the application level, with (the
obligatory) streaming lib optimizations, postman's new Perl SAM
library, safer content encoding negotiation in the eepproxy
(the addressbook can fetch from orion.i2p again), plus a whole
lot of Syndie cleanup. This release is backwards compatible, and
updating should be trivial, so give it a go.
As always the full list of changes can be found online at
http://dev.i2p.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/i2p/history.txt?rev=HEADInstructions for installing or upgrading is over on
http://www.i2p.net/downloadSome people have mentioned problems seeing new posts in Syndie with
the last release, and after some debugging, it looks like I forgot
to save some settings in the code (d'oh!). If you go to the Syndie
addressbook at
http://localhost:7657/syndie/addressbook.jsp and just
check the "Syndicate" checkbox on the syndiemedia line, hit update,
and do the same for the other two archives, it will remember those
subscriptions, periodically pulling down new posts behind the
scenes.
As always, if you run into any trouble, please jump onto #i2p [1] or
the forum [2] and we'll try to help out.
